Location: Accra, Ghana

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organised, and analytical Accounts Officer to support our Finance team. The successful candidate will manage accounting processes, maintain accurate financial records, support reporting activities, and contribute to effective financial controls that drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Records Management

As an Accounts Officer, you will:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, journals, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure proper organisation, filing, and retrieval of financial documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.
  • Support accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

You will:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
  • Process supplier invoices, customer payments, and related transactions promptly.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier and customer accounts.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of account balances.

Bank Reconciliation & Financial Reporting

You will:

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Assist in preparing periodic financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Provide accurate financial information to support management decisions.

Budget Monitoring & Compliance

You will:

  • Monitor departmental budgets and report significant variances.
  • Support tax preparation and statutory compliance processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies, procedures, and accounting standards.

Expense Management

You will:

  • Review, verify, and process staff claims, reimbursements, and expense reports.
  • Monitor expenditure to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
  • Support effective cost management and financial accountability.

Process Improvement

You will:

  • Recommend improvements to accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Support initiatives that enhance financial efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance operations and service delivery.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants should possess:

Educational Qualification

  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience within the real estate, construction, or property development sector will be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Location Requirement

Applicants should:

  • Reside in Accra, Tema, Ashaiman, Dawhenya, Prampram, or surrounding areas.
  • Be willing to relocate if required.
