Job Summary
DLP Africa is looking for a highly accomplished Finance Manager to lead and strengthen its finance function. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will oversee all aspects of financial management, provide strategic financial insight, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a high-performing finance function that supports sustainable business growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen, leadership capability, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Develop and maintain reliable budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
- Produce high-quality management reports that support executive decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxation, and treasury functions.
- Ensure compliance with Ghanaian tax legislation, statutory obligations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain productive relationships with auditors.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls, financial policies, and risk management processes.
- Partner with business leaders to provide commercial insights that support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support corporate development activities and strategic investment initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional qualification).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ post-qualification experience in finance or accounting roles.
- At least two (2) years in a finance leadership or supervisory position.
- Demonstrated experience managing an end-to-end Finance function.
- Experience within growth-stage businesses is preferred; candidates from corporate organisations or audit firms with strong commercial exposure are encouraged to apply.
- Experience leading or managing external audit processes.
- Industry experience within technology, telecommunications, fintech, financial services, or other high-growth sectors is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, PivotTables, and advanced functions.
- Familiarity with modern payroll systems.
- Working knowledge of Ghanaian tax legislation and statutory compliance requirements.

By Month 3
- Deliver a trusted monthly Management Report that provides an accurate view of business performance.
- Ensure aged receivables and payables are actively managed.
- Maintain current statutory filings.
- Lead a smooth and efficient annual audit process.
By Month 6
- Establish a disciplined monthly financial close process.
- Implement reliable cash flow forecasting.
- Provide pricing and margin analysis that informs commercial decisions.
- Document and implement effective internal controls.
By Month 12
- Build a Finance function recognised for operational excellence and credibility.
- Enable the CEO to confidently delegate financial decision-making.
- Position the Finance function to support DLP Africa’s continued growth and future corporate development opportunities.
