Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the management and maintenance of the bank’s IT systems, applications, and infrastructure. The IT Officer will ensure smooth technology operations, strengthen cybersecurity practices, and provide timely technical assistance to staff across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support core banking systems and other IT applications to ensure efficient operations.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, printers, and network systems.
- Implement and monitor data security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues to minimise downtime.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and cybersecurity measures.
- Support the implementation and enforcement of IT policies and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and improve service delivery.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on IT systems and applications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, systems, and procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management or the Head of IT.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant work experience, preferably within a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and database management.
- Experience working with core banking systems will be an added advantage.
- Professional IT certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, or CompTIA certifications will be an advantage.
