Job Summary

The Kitchen Assistant will support the preparation, handling, and serving of meals while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness. The successful candidate will work closely with the catering team to ensure the efficient delivery of quality food services in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with established food safety and hygiene standards.
• Wash, clean, and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
• Support the proper storage and handling of food supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
• Follow health, safety, and infection prevention procedures at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Contribute to a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Minimum of WASSCE or a TVET qualification.
• 1–2 years of experience in the catering or food service field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must reside within Tema or Ashaiman.
