Job Overview

As a Social Media Officer, you will manage the school’s digital platforms, create engaging content, and develop online strategies that promote the school’s brand, programmes, events, and achievements. You will work closely with the school leadership and departments to capture and communicate impactful stories that reflect the school’s vision and activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate creativity, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of social media trends and digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Manage and maintain the school’s social media platforms, including content planning, publishing, and engagement.
• Develop and implement social media strategies that increase brand awareness and community engagement.
• Create engaging content including photos, videos, graphics, captions, and digital campaigns.
• Capture and showcase school activities, events, student achievements, and community initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with school objectives.
• Monitor social media performance and prepare reports on engagement, reach, and audience growth.
• Respond to comments, messages, and enquiries professionally and promptly.
• Promote school programmes, events, admissions campaigns, and success stories.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and departments to gather relevant content.
• Ensure all online content reflects the school’s values, professionalism, and brand identity.
• Support digital marketing initiatives and online communication campaigns.
• Stay updated on social media trends, tools, and best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies when sharing student-related content.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Previous experience managing social media accounts, digital marketing, content creation, or communications will be an advantage.
• Experience working in an educational institution or similar organisation will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of social media management tools and content creation platforms will be beneficial.
