We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and student-focused Economics Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, develop students’ understanding of economic principles, and prepare learners for academic success.

Position Summary

The Economics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering effective Economics lessons, assessing student performance, supporting learners’ academic growth, and contributing to a positive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, excellent teaching ability, and a commitment to student achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Economics lessons in accordance with the Ghana Education Service curriculum and school standards.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments that support effective learning.
• Teach economic concepts, theories, and applications using clear and practical approaches.
• Prepare students for WASSCE and other relevant examinations.
• Assess students’ academic performance through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Provide academic guidance and additional support to students who require improvement.
• Monitor students’ progress and implement strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and an understanding of real-world economic issues.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and academic development.
• Create a disciplined, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Use innovative teaching methods and technology to improve lesson delivery.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and school activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and management to improve teaching and learning standards.
• Support students’ personal development, discipline, and overall academic growth.
• Perform other duties assigned by school management.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics Education, Economics, Education, or a related discipline.
• Professional teaching qualification or recognized teaching certification will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ teaching experience at the Senior High School level.
• Proven experience teaching Economics and preparing students for WASSCE examinations.
• Strong knowledge of the Ghanaian Senior High School Economics curriculum.
