We are seeking a creative and dedicated Ceramics Teacher to join our academic team and inspire students through practical and theoretical instruction in ceramics and related creative arts disciplines.

Job Summary

The Ceramics Teacher will deliver engaging lessons, guide students through practical ceramic projects, and develop their artistic and technical skills. The successful candidate will create an interactive learning environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective Ceramics lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
• Teach students ceramic techniques, processes, materials, and creative design concepts.
• Demonstrate practical skills in clay preparation, modelling, shaping, glazing, and firing processes.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, and practical assessments.
• Guide students in developing creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
• Assess students’ practical work and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized ceramics studio or workshop.
• Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Encourage students to participate in exhibitions, creative projects, and school activities.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and performance.
• Participate in departmental meetings and other school programmes.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by school management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum qualification of HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramics, Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
• Previous teaching experience at the Senior High School level is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of ceramic techniques, materials, and production processes.
• Ability to combine theoretical instruction with practical demonstrations.
• Good classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Commitment to developing students’ artistic abilities and practical skills.
