Position Summary

As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum, support students’ academic development, and create an engaging classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and independent learning.

You will play an important role in helping students achieve their academic goals while contributing to a positive and collaborative school community.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum and school academic standards.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, creativity, and academic excellence.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, and assessments that meet the learning needs of students.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
  • Use effective teaching strategies to develop students’ subject knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations in line with Cambridge assessment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and academic development.
  • Provide additional academic support and guidance to students where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, discipline, and respect within the classroom.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and improve learning outcomes.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development programmes, extracurricular activities, and wider school initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional teaching standards.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree and professional teaching qualification in the subject area.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge Curriculum at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of subject content, curriculum planning, and assessment practices.
  • Experience preparing students for Cambridge examinations will be an advantage.
  • Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Ability to design creative, challenging, and effective learning experiences.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for inspiring students and supporting their academic and personal development.
