We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-focused Alumni Relations Officer to develop meaningful connections with our alumni community and support initiatives that enhance alumni engagement, communication, and participation.
Position Summary
As the Alumni Relations Officer, you will serve as the key link between Lancaster University Ghana and its alumni community. You will develop and implement alumni engagement initiatives, manage alumni communications, coordinate events, maintain alumni records, and support activities that strengthen lifelong connections between graduates and the University.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Lancaster University Ghana and its alumni community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni through effective engagement strategies and communication.
- Develop and strengthen alumni chapters, networks, and communities.
- Plan and coordinate alumni events, including reunions, networking sessions, recognition programmes, and engagement activities.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to create engaging alumni stories, newsletters, digital content, and promotional materials.
- Manage alumni communication platforms, including social media channels, newsletters, and the alumni webpage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records and oversee alumni database management.
- Coordinate alumni surveys, collect graduate information, and support graduate outcome reporting.
- Identify opportunities for alumni involvement, giving, partnerships, and donor engagement initiatives.
- Prepare reports, proposals, event summaries, and post-event evaluations.
- Represent the University at recruitment activities, promotional events, alumni functions, and external engagements.
- Support student affairs initiatives, including career events, graduations, school visits, exhibitions, and other University programmes.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to enhance student and alumni engagement experiences.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that strengthen the University’s alumni community and reputation.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant professional experience in alumni relations, customer relations, communications, events management, student affairs, or a related role.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent organisational and event coordination abilities.
- Strong report writing, record management, and database administration skills.
- Ability to develop engaging content and manage digital communication platforms.
- Creative thinking, innovation, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools.
