Position Summary
As the Basic 4 Class Teacher, you will deliver engaging, learner-centred instruction that supports pupils’ academic achievement and personal development. You will create a positive and safe classroom environment, inspire a love for learning, and help pupils build the knowledge, skills, and values needed for continued success.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across all Basic 4 subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Science, Our World Our People (OWOP), Ghanaian Language, and other prescribed subjects.
- Deliver instruction in line with the NaCCA curriculum using learner-centred teaching methodologies.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, and classroom activities that promote active participation and learning.
- Set and administer class assessments, mark exercises, evaluate pupil performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic progress, assessments, and pupil development, and prepare reports as required.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that encourages learning and positive behaviour.
- Promote discipline, honesty, respect, civic responsibility, and strong moral values among pupils.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support learners’ academic and personal growth.
- Integrate teaching aids and appropriate educational technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, school programmes, parent engagement activities, and professional development initiatives.
- Perform any other duties that contribute to the effective delivery of quality education.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education or a related education discipline.
- Experience teaching at the upper primary level will be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of the NaCCA curriculum and learner-centred teaching approaches.
- Experience preparing lesson plans, assessments, and learner progress reports.
- Confidence in using teaching aids and basic educational technology to support classroom instruction.
