We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join our Finance team and support the company’s financial operations.

Position Summary

The Accounts Officer will support the Finance Department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements while contributing to efficient financial operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries in the accounting system.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions before processing.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and prepare payments promptly.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile supplier and customer statements regularly.
  • Resolve payment discrepancies in collaboration with relevant departments.

Banking & Cash Management

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and supporting documentation.
  • Manage petty cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Support cash flow monitoring and payment scheduling.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Generate financial schedules and reports for management as required.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure financial transactions comply with company policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing required documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Support inventory valuation and reconciliation processes.
  • Assist with cost analysis for pharmaceutical products.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure inventory records remain accurate.

General Finance Support

  • Assist with finance-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Finance Manager in delivering departmental objectives.
  • Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by management.

Educational Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Part qualification in ACCA, ICA Ghana, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of accounting experience.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry will be an advantage.
  • Practical experience using accounting ERP systems.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
