Job Description

Our Client in the Manufacturing Industry is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant, who will support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting. and provide cost and inventory accounting support specific to manufacturing activities. The role requires strong analytical skills, solid understanding of accounting principles, and hands-on experience working with ERP/accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Review and verify supplier invoices for accuracy.
  • Maintain proper records of accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Support periodic stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Assist in processing payroll, including updating employee records and deductions.
  • Maintain petty cash and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and industry regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of Accounting experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Experience with ERP systems (eg. Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Odoo).
  • Good understanding of inventory and cost accounting
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must live within Tema and its environment
