Accountant – Full Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage the company’s financial records, control production-related costs, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role provides management with timely, reliable financial information to support decision-making in our water and beverage production operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate accounting records, including journals, ledgers, and financial statements.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

2. Production & Cost Accounting

  • Monitor and record production costs, including raw materials, packaging, labor, utilities, and overheads.

  • Conduct cost analysis for water, beverage, and spice production.

  • Support pricing decisions by providing cost and margin analysis.

  • Track wastage, spoilage, and variances in production inputs.

3. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Maintain accurate records of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

  • Reconcile physical stock with accounting records.

  • Support periodic stock counts and inventory audits.

4. Taxation & Compliance

  • Prepare and file tax returns, statutory deductions, and regulatory reports.

  • Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and other relevant authorities.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation.

5. Budgeting & Financial Control

  • Supervise the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

  • Monitor budget performance and report variances.

  • Support management in cost control and financial planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ICA Ghana, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.

  • Proficient in Excel and financial analysis tools.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and cost accounting.

  • High accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze production costs and financial data.

  • Integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial and management reports.

  • Effective control of production and operational costs.

  • Compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Inventory accuracy and reduction of wastage.

  • Successful audit outcomes.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based with regular interaction with production and stores departments.

  • May require additional hours during stock counts, audits, or month-end reporting.
