Role Overview

The Accounting & Finance Officer will manage ACTT’s financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic support for growth initiatives. The role includes financial planning, reporting, budgeting, risk management, payroll oversight, audit preparation, and providing actionable insights to leadership. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional ready to contribute in a start-up environment and help build financial systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

  • Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with Ghanaian accounting standards and regulations.

  • Monitor and maintain internal financial controls and ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

  • Support budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation for various projects and departments.

  • Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to guide strategic decision-making by management.

  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and ethical handling of financial information.

  • Collaborate across teams, providing training and support on financial processes where needed.

  • Contribute to building and strengthening financial systems and processes in a start-up environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and Ghanaian tax regulations.

  • Experience with budgeting, payroll management, financial systems, and audit preparation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

  • Ready to thrive in a start-up, participatory community environment.

Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills:
