Job Description

Accounts/Administrator

Location: Near Winneba/Apam, Central Region, Ghana
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: GHS 2,500 – GHS 3,000 per month

About the Institute

A well-established Vocational and Technical Institute operated by a respected British charitable organisation is seeking an organised, trustworthy, and proactive Accounts/Administrator to support its daily administrative and financial operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the institute while maintaining accurate financial records and providing administrative support to management.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Finance

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
  • Record daily income and expenditure.
  • Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and invoices.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and petty cash.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and budgets.
  • Process payroll and maintain employee payment records.
  • Support external auditors and ensure proper filing of financial documents.

Administration

  • Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the institute.
  • Maintain student and staff records.
  • Coordinate procurement of office and training supplies.
  • Manage office correspondence, filing systems, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports, letters, and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate schedules, appointments, and institutional events.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and administrative procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting, administration, or a similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience using accounting software will be an added advantage.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
