Key Responsibilities
Platform Support and Availability
- Support, monitor, and maintain all network management platforms to ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance.
- Analyze and maintain element management systems, including hardware and software components, to optimize system functionality.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities through scripting, workflows, and reporting tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Review and validate project implementations to ensure alignment with approved plans and technical standards.
- Monitor compliance with quality, audit, and operational standards, including subcontractor performance and regulatory requirements.
Incident and Problem Management
- Collaborate with the system support team to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Perform root cause analysis using system logs, configurations, and integration data to resolve platform-related incidents.
- Monitor system health, identify recurring issues, and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
- Manage system support activities through Work Orders (WOs), validate implementation outcomes, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Project and Change Management
- Plan, coordinate, and assess site visits and technical surveys to support network projects and system integrations.
- Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, and budget, and provide timely reports on risks and corrective actions.
- Analyze baseline and target system architectures and evaluate the impact of upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Support the successful implementation of system enhancements while minimizing operational risks.
Access, Security, and Regulatory Compliance
- Administer system access controls and user accounts in accordance with security policies and audit requirements.
- Monitor compliance with internal standards, regulatory obligations, and audit recommendations.
- Ensure timely updates of National Communications Authority (NCA) monitoring systems by validating, uploading, and backing up required data.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for internal customers and third parties, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved efficiently.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager in support of departmental objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in a relevant technology or telecommunications field will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role within an Information Technology or Telecommunications environment.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Fundamental knowledge of telecommunications technologies, including Packet Switched (PS) Core, Circuit Switched (CS) Core, Radio Access Network (RAN), and Transmission.
- Strong knowledge of database administration.
- Good command of Linux/UNIX system administration.
- Sound knowledge of Operations Support Systems (OSS), preferably Huawei and ZTE platforms.
- Experience with scripting, automation, and platform integration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
