The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and clients to deliver practical legal solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic business decisions through effective legal advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
As the Associate Lawyer, you will:
- Provide legal advice and support on business operations, transactions, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, briefs, and advisory documents.
- Manage and maintain accurate legal documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry requirements.
- Represent and protect the company’s interests in legal proceedings and negotiations.
- Support litigation matters, including preparation of legal documents, case management, and court-related processes.
- Provide guidance on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and related registrations.
- Assist internal teams and clients with legal consultations and risk assessments.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments that may impact the organisation.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external legal partners.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised law degree and professional qualification.
- Admission to the Ghana Bar and current good standing with the relevant professional body.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ post-call experience.
- Demonstrable experience in litigation and intellectual property practice.
- Practical knowledge and experience in:
- Trademark registration and opposition proceedings.
- Trademark refusals and related applications.
- Copyright protection.
- Patent matters.
- Contract review and drafting.
