Position Overview

GCTU invites applications from highly qualified and motivated academics for the position of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching excellence, impactful research, academic leadership, and community engagement within the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Professor will:

• Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise MSc and PhD research projects and dissertations
• Lead and publish impactful research in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute to curriculum development and programme innovation
• Provide academic leadership within the faculty and university community
• Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university governance
• Engage in community service and industry collaboration initiatives
• Mentor junior faculty members and support staff development

Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Possess a Ph.D. in Computing, Information Systems, or a closely related field
• Have been appointed as an Associate Professor by a recognized university with comparable promotion standards to GCTU

OR

• Be a Senior Lecturer seeking promotion, in which case the applicant will be appointed as Senior Lecturer and undergo GCTU’s internal promotion process

Additional requirements include:

• At least four (4) years of experience as a Senior Lecturer (where applicable)
• A minimum of ten (10) publications in reputable, recognized peer-reviewed journals
• Strong record of teaching, research, and academic leadership
• Submission of names and contact details of three (3) referees
