Position Summary

The University invites applications from distinguished academics for the position of Professor in the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, advance high-impact research, and contribute to teaching, supervision, and institutional development in line with the standards of a public university in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

The Professor will:

• Provide strategic academic leadership within the Faculty and Department.
• Deliver postgraduate and advanced-level teaching in Computing and Information Systems.
• Supervise Ph.D., MPhil, and MSc research candidates to completion.
• Lead high-impact research initiatives and secure competitive research funding.
• Publish extensively in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals.
• Contribute to curriculum design, review, and academic quality assurance.
• Participate actively in university governance, committees, and policy development.
• Strengthen industry linkages, research collaborations, and community engagement.
• Mentor junior faculty members and support academic capacity development.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Possess a Ph.D. in Computing, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Must have been appointed as a Professor by a recognized university with comparable promotion standards to those of Ghana Communication Technology University.
• Demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an Associate Professor, where applicable.
• Provide evidence of at least fifteen (15) publications in recognized peer-reviewed journals.
• Alternatively, an Associate Professor seeking promotion to Professor may be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor and undergo the University’s promotion process.
• Submit names and addresses of three (3) referees.
• Demonstrate strong leadership in research, teaching, and academic service.

Remuneration and Benefits

Compensation is aligned with the Single Spine Pay Policy and is comparable to the conditions of service for Professors in public universities in Ghana.
