About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Billing Assistant to join our finance operations team in Accra. In this role, you will support accurate medical billing processes, ensure timely claims submissions, and assist in managing accounts receivable. You will play a key role in maintaining clean revenue cycles and supporting smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and submit medical billing claims accurately and on time
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement
  • Support accounts receivable (AR) management and track payment statuses
  • Verify billing information for accuracy and completeness before submission
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and coordinate with insurers and internal teams
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date billing records and documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of billing and revenue reports for management review
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and payer requirements
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate charge capture
  • Support continuous improvement of billing processes and workflow efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims submission, and accounts receivable management
  • Strong understanding of billing procedures and insurance claim processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Proficiency in billing systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance in handling financial data
