Role Overview
The Broadcast Engineer actively manages and maintains the Parliamentary broadcast systems, ensuring high-quality audio-visual transmission for parliamentary sessions and events. The role is ideal for technically skilled professionals with expertise in broadcast engineering and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Television broadcast systems, including IP video, SDI, playout servers, encoders, transmitters, and audio systems
Ensure uninterrupted broadcast of parliamentary proceedings and special events
Install, configure, and upgrade broadcast equipment and related systems
Collaborate with technical teams to implement new broadcast technologies and workflows
Deliver high-quality technical support under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
Monitor system performance and perform preventive maintenance to avoid downtime
Maintain accurate records of equipment, system changes, and maintenance activities
Provide technical guidance and training to junior broadcast staff
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma in Broadcast Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, ICT, or related field from an accredited institution
Proficiency in Television broadcast systems: IP video, SDI, playout servers, encoders, transmitters, and audio systems
Proven ability to perform effectively under extreme pressure
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
