Role Overview

As a Business Relationship Associate (BRA), you will take ownership of the SME customer journey—from acquisition and on boarding through transactions, deposits, and quality loan management. You will build strong, value-driven relationships with clients while safeguarding the company’s interests.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

You will:

  • Understand customers’ operations and sectors to provide tailored financial solutions.

  • Drive adoption of digital platforms to reduce friction and improve service efficiency.

  • Process customer documentation and mandates accurately and efficiently.

  • Demonstrate customer obsession by placing the client at the center of every interaction.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.


Sales Growth

You will:

  • Develop and execute structured calling schedules to engage all customers within your portfolio.

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective SME customers.

  • Offer lending solutions aligned with customer needs and repayment capacity.

  • Ensure products and pricing are clearly explained to customers and prevent mis-selling.

  • Effectively onboard and retain customers throughout their lifecycle.


Credit Risk Management

You will:

  • Plan and execute annual credit reviews across the portfolio.

  • Support customers in completing credit application documentation accurately.

  • Communicate credit approval or decline decisions professionally.

  • Monitor daily account activity using available tools to ensure compliance with risk parameters.

  • Provide first-line defense against loan portfolio deterioration.

  • Ensure all covenants and conditions are satisfied before disbursement and on an ongoing basis.


Compliance & Regulatory

You will:

  • Ensure strict adherence to KYC and AML requirements before and after account opening.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all portfolio customers.

  • Use customer information proactively to prevent fraud.

  • Comply with company policies and basic safety rules.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Business or related field preferred) from a recognized institution.

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in SME relationship management.

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a credit or risk environment.
