The Role
The Board of Directors invites applications from highly qualified, accomplished, and forward-thinking banking professionals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The CEO will provide strategic leadership, drive operational excellence, and ensure sustainable profitability while advancing the Bank’s social mandate of rural and community financial inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear strategic direction and lead the execution of the Bank’s long-term business strategy and corporate objectives.
Drive financial sustainability through growth in assets, deposits, profitability, and shareholder value.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain effective engagement with the Bank of Ghana and other relevant authorities.
Uphold the highest standards of corporate governance, internal controls, and enterprise risk management.
Foster a culture of exceptional customer service, operational excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive and management team.
Strengthen stakeholder relationships with customers, shareholders, regulators, traditional authorities, and the broader community.
Lead digital transformation initiatives, including the effective implementation and optimization of core banking systems such as Bank Mill.
Present accurate and timely financial and operational performance reports to the Board of Directors.
Champion initiatives that promote rural development and financial inclusion.
Qualification Required & Experience
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional qualification (e.g., ICA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA) will be a strong advantage.
At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in the banking or financial services sector.
Minimum of five (5) years in a senior management role (e.g., Deputy CEO, Head of Department, or equivalent).
Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, risk management, and rural or community banking.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, directives, and policies of the Bank of Ghana.
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical banking practices.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory directives, financial reports, and policy documents effectively.
