We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Clearing Officer (Field Agent) to manage customs clearance processes and ensure smooth movement of imported goods through Ghana’s ports. This role requires strong field presence, technical knowledge of customs procedures, and hands-on experience in import clearance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end customs clearance processes for imported vehicles, auto parts, SKD units, and heavy equipment.
• Process documentation and ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and customs regulations.
• Coordinate inspections, examinations, and releases of cargo at the port and examination bays.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs officials, and other regulatory bodies.
• Track shipments and update internal systems using ICUMS and other clearance platforms.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of import documentation and clearance activities.
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve clearance delays or operational challenges.
• Support cost control by ensuring efficient and timely clearance processes.
• Provide regular updates and reports on shipment status and clearance timelines to management.
• Work extensively in the field, spending significant time at the port and related clearance points.

Qualifications and Requirements

• HND in Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Customs Administration, or a related field.
• A Bachelor’s Degree will be considered an added advantage.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in customs clearing, specifically within the automotive, SKD assembly, or heavy equipment sectors.
• Strong experience with Chinese-origin imports is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in ICUMS and Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of customs procedures, import regulations, and clearance processes in Ghana.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure port environments.
• Field-ready with willingness to spend 4–5 days per week at the port or examination bays.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
