Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Cocoa Sourcing Manager to lead our sourcing operations in Ghana. The successful candidate will ensure a reliable supply of high-quality cocoa beans while upholding Fairafric’s ethical, sustainable, and traceable sourcing standards. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, market insight, and supply chain expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Source high-quality cocoa that meets Fairafric’s ethical and sustainability standards.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with production requirements.
- Monitor market trends, crop forecasts, and pricing to inform procurement decisions.
- Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and aggregators to ensure a consistent and sustainable supply.
- Ensure compliance with quality, certification, traceability, and ethical sourcing standards in collaboration with internal teams.
- Negotiate supplier contracts, manage sourcing budgets, and optimize procurement costs, logistics, and transportation.
- Drive sustainable sourcing initiatives, ensuring full traceability and contributing to environmental and social impact projects.
- Engage cocoa-growing communities and industry stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and improve farmer welfare.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, including the Ghana Cocoa Board and Licensed Buying Companies, ensuring adherence to national policies.
- Maintain accurate sourcing data and prepare reports on volumes, quality, costs, and supplier performance.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record in cocoa sourcing, agribusiness procurement, or commodity trading.
- Strong experience in farmer engagement and supply chain operations.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Cocoa Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ghana’s cocoa value chain and regulatory environment.
- Value Chain Experience: Experience working with farmer cooperatives, Licensed Buying Companies, and regulators.
- Sustainable Sourcing: Knowledge of certification standards and ethical sourcing practices.
- Negotiation: Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze sourcing data and produce actionable insights.
- Planning & Logistics: Expertise in supply chain planning and coordination.
