Role Overview

The EHS Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety systems. The role ensures full regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports sustainable operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Leadership & Compliance

• Develop and implement EHS policies, systems, and procedures aligned with regulatory and company standards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and occupational safety regulations through effective liaison with regulatory authorities.
• Lead internal and external audits and support certification processes.

Monitoring & Risk Management

• Monitor environmental performance, including air, water, waste, and pest control systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring proper reporting and resolution.

Training & Culture

• Deliver EHS training, inductions, and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Promote and embed a strong safety-first and environmentally responsible culture.

Emergency Preparedness & Systems

• Ensure the availability, functionality, and maintenance of emergency systems, including firefighting equipment and response plans.

Reporting & Collaboration

• Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and performance metrics.
• Analyze trends and provide insights to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Collaborate with Quality and other departments to ensure compliance with food safety and certification standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments is highly preferred.

Certifications (Advantageous)

• NEBOSH or equivalent Occupational Health & Safety certification.
• ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).
• ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems).
• HACCP or other food safety certifications.

Core Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and local requirements.
• Expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and compliance audits.
• Understanding of environmental monitoring systems, sanitation, and pest control.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Work Environment

• Factory-based role with regular interaction across production and operational teams.
• Requires proactive engagement in both office and production environments to ensure compliance and safety standards.
