As we expand our lubricants business, we are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Manager – Lubricants to lead our growth strategy and deliver outstanding business performance.
Position Summary
The Commercial Manager – Lubricants will provide strategic leadership for the company’s lubricants business, driving sustainable growth across industrial and retail markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies, leading high-performing teams, managing key customer relationships, expanding distribution channels, and delivering profitable business growth.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and implement the commercial strategy for the lubricants business across industrial and retail markets.
- Drive business growth within the mining, construction, manufacturing, transport, agriculture, and other key industrial sectors.
- Expand lubricant sales through Signal Oil’s retail fuel station network and distributor channels.
- Identify, acquire, and manage major commercial accounts while negotiating long-term supply agreements.
- Take full ownership of the commercial performance and profitability (P&L) of the lubricants business.
- Develop and implement effective pricing, marketing, and customer retention strategies to increase market share.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial and sales team.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Marketing teams to ensure operational excellence and superior customer service.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to strengthen the company’s competitive position.
- Develop strategic partnerships that support long-term business growth.
- Deliver revenue, profitability, and market share targets while maintaining the highest standards of governance, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare commercial reports, sales forecasts, and performance analyses to support informed business decisions.
Education and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ commercial leadership experience within the lubricants, petroleum, industrial products, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success in business-to-business (B2B) sales, distributor development, and key account management.
- Strong understanding of industrial lubricants, retail fuel station operations, and commercial market dynamics.
- Proven experience managing commercial budgets, pricing strategies, profitability, and business growth.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and sales analytics to improve commercial performance.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Ghana.
