Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the adoption and implementation of direct sales strategies and culture.
  • Develop and execute weekly, monthly, and annual account management plans to grow, retain, and reduce churn within assigned SME accounts.
  • Contribute to achieving SME Direct Sales market share targets within assigned portfolios.
  • Implement targeted strategies to acquire new SME clients across designated industry verticals.
  • Manage accounts effectively with a strong focus on account development (“farming”).
  • Build in-depth knowledge of assigned SME industry verticals to enhance sales effectiveness.
  • Promote and sell MTN’s full range of solutions, including mobile voice, data, ICT services, VAS, and bundled offerings.
  • Deliver integrated, tailor-made business solutions to meet client needs.
  • Support debt collection efforts to maintain healthy account status.
  • Identify market opportunities and gather competitor intelligence to support product and service innovation.
  • Utilize CRM systems, pipeline management tools, and reporting systems to optimize sales performance.
  • Plan and execute efficient customer engagement schedules to maximize productivity and resource utilization.
  • Continuously develop expertise in account management and solution selling to drive cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar commercial or sales role.

Professional & Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of SME markets and industry dynamics.
  • Understanding of SME partners and business ecosystems.
  • Expertise in sales strategy, account management, and business development.
  • Proficiency in sales tracking, reporting, and CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and data analytics.
