We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our team and support the preparation of healthy meals for pupils and staff.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will prepare nutritious and well-balanced meals while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety. The ideal candidate will have practical cooking experience, knowledge of local dishes, and the ability to work efficiently in a school kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals for pupils and staff according to approved menu plans.
• Follow food preparation procedures and maintain high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
• Ensure all meals meet food safety, hygiene, and nutritional requirements.
• Properly store, handle, and preserve food items to maintain freshness and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, utensils, equipment, and dining areas.
• Support portion control and ensure meals are served on schedule.
• Assist with planning daily food preparation activities.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and support the ordering and stocking of ingredients and materials.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation and storage practices.
• Follow all school health, safety, and hygiene policies.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and school personnel.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Educational Requirements

• Basic Education Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant training or certification in catering, food preparation, hospitality, or food handling will be an advantage.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of cooking experience.
• Experience preparing meals for schools, institutions, or large groups will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of local Ghanaian dishes and meal preparation techniques.
• A valid health screening certificate will be an advantage.
