Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Control Operations Specialist to strengthen and optimize our cybersecurity control environment. In this role, you will actively design, implement, and monitor security controls, ensuring the organization remains resilient against emerging cyber threats while maintaining compliance with global standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize endpoint security, data protection, and threat mitigation technologies.
  • Securely configure and harden systems, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Identify, assess, and remediate control gaps to enhance the organization’s defense posture.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and patch management programs to address security risks promptly.
  • Align cybersecurity controls with regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational risk appetite and compliance standards.
  • Monitor, test, and validate the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls across enterprise systems.
  • Maintain and continuously improve security control frameworks in line with industry standards.
  • Support incident response activities by analyzing control performance and recommending corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits, reviews, and reporting on control effectiveness for management and stakeholders.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise in deploying and maintaining security tools and technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resilience against evolving threats.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to promote strong security practices across the organization.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats, technologies, and regulatory developments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate 5+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity with strong hands-on technical expertise.
  • Possess relevant certifications such as CEH, GPEN, CompTIA CASP+, OSCP, or GCIH (preferred).

Core Competencies & Technical Expertise

  • Evaluate threats, vulnerabilities, and control gaps to prioritize remediation effectively.
  • Monitor and validate the performance of cybersecurity controls continuously.
  • Analyze control effectiveness during incidents and support rapid recovery efforts.
  • Apply strong knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Utilize security tools, monitoring systems, and operational technologies effectively.
  • Interpret complex data, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Collaborate across IT, risk, and compliance teams, translating technical issues into business impact.
  • Demonstrate expertise in:
    • CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability)
    • Threat modeling and risk management
    • Access control models and least privilege principles
    • MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSH) and their security implications.
  • Understand web and application security, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with API security (OAuth, JWT) and mobile application security (iOS & Android).
  • Apply vulnerability lifecycle management and risk prioritization frameworks such as CVSS.
  • Produce clear, concise reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging cybersecurity trends.
