Position Summary
The Dental Therapist will provide preventive and restorative dental care services, support patient education on oral hygiene, and assist in delivering high-quality dental treatments under established clinical guidelines.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical competence, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of dental practice.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Treatment
- Provide routine dental therapy services, including scaling, polishing, and preventive treatments.
- Assist in basic restorative procedures under supervision where required.
- Carry out oral assessments and document patient conditions accurately.
- Support dentists in delivering comprehensive dental care.
Patient Care & Education
- Welcome and prepare patients for dental procedures in a professional and reassuring manner.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Promote good oral health habits to improve long-term patient outcomes.
- Ensure a calm and comfortable experience for all patients.
Infection Control & Safety
- Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and cleanliness of clinical areas.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
Record Keeping & Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Document treatment procedures and clinical notes in a timely manner.
- Support administrative tasks related to patient care and clinic operations.
Collaboration & Team Support
- Work closely with dentists, dental assistants, and other clinical staff.
- Participate in team discussions to improve patient care and service delivery.
- Support the smooth operation of daily clinical activities.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Dental Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Valid professional certification or license (where applicable).
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience.
