The Economics Teacher will deliver engaging and effective instruction aligned with the Cambridge International A-Level Economics curriculum. The successful candidate will inspire students to understand economic principles, analyse real-world issues, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve outstanding academic results.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Economics lessons aligned with the Cambridge International A-Level curriculum.
- Develop students’ understanding of economic concepts, theories, and practical applications.
- Encourage learners to analyse economic issues and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations.
- Develop students’ critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Apply differentiated teaching strategies to support learners with diverse abilities and learning needs.
- Integrate ICT tools, digital resources, and innovative teaching approaches to enhance student learning.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment.
Assessment and Student Progress
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with Cambridge A-Level Economics standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on student progress, achievement, and academic development.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and examination performance.
- Maintain accurate academic records in line with school policies and examination requirements.
- Use assessment data to identify learning needs and improve instructional strategies.
Curriculum Development
- Contribute actively to the planning, review, and continuous improvement of the A-Level Economics curriculum.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans that align with Cambridge International examination standards.
- Stay updated on current national and global economic issues and incorporate relevant examples into lessons.
- Apply effective teaching and assessment strategies that support academic excellence.
Student Support and Enrichment
- Prepare and support students to achieve excellent outcomes in Cambridge A-Level Economics examinations.
- Encourage participation in academic enrichment activities, including debates, research projects, and competitions.
- Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and support to help students reach their full potential.
- Inspire students to develop a lifelong interest in Economics and its impact on society.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training programmes, and professional development activities.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success.
- Contribute positively to the school’s vision, mission, and values.
- Maintain high professional standards and uphold safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Support initiatives that enhance teaching quality and the overall learning experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a specialization in Economics or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree in Economics, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience delivering Cambridge International A-Level Economics at the secondary school level.
- Valid teaching certification or professional teaching licence.
- Cambridge International Education professional development certification is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Economics, including Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
- In-depth understanding of the Cambridge International A-Level Economics syllabus and assessment requirements.
- Strong understanding of effective teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Ability to apply differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching approaches.
- Awareness of current global and national economic trends and developments.
- Excellent classroom management and instructional delivery skills.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to integrate ICT effectively into teaching and learning.
- Proven ability to motivate students and improve academic outcomes.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment is an advantage.
