Key Responsibilities
As the English Language Lecturer (Literature), you will:
- Deliver engaging lectures in literature and related areas of English language education.
- Develop, review, and update course materials in line with the College curriculum and national education standards.
- Facilitate interactive learning experiences that strengthen students’ literary analysis, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Assess student learning through examinations, assignments, presentations, projects, and continuous assessment.
- Supervise student research projects, teaching practice, and other academic activities.
- Conduct scholarly research and contribute to academic publications, conferences, and professional development initiatives.
- Mentor and provide academic guidance to students throughout their studies.
- Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance, and departmental activities.
- Contribute to College committees, academic programmes, and community engagement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate academic records and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and academic integrity.
Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate should possess:
- A PhD in English Language, English Literature, Literature in English, English Education, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the tertiary level.
- Strong knowledge of literary studies, literary criticism, and contemporary teaching methodologies.
- A proven commitment to research, innovation, and academic excellence.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment.
