We are seeking a proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented Facility Manager to oversee the effective management, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement of our school facilities and infrastructure.

Position Summary

The Facility Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and supervision of facility operations across the school campus. The successful candidate will ensure that buildings, grounds, utilities, equipment, and support services are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting the school’s operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of school buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure facilities remain safe and functional.
  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, and maintenance projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and identify areas requiring improvement or corrective action.
  • Ensure all facilities are maintained to a high standard and support an effective learning environment.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor workplace safety procedures and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and address potential hazards promptly.
  • Support the development and enforcement of school policies related to facility management and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance requirements.

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors, service providers, and maintenance vendors.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure work meets required quality and safety standards.
  • Obtain quotations and support procurement processes for facility-related services and supplies.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with service providers and suppliers.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Assist in preparing and managing facility maintenance and operational budgets.
  • Monitor facility-related expenditures and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Recommend improvements and investments that enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.

Campus Environment & Support Services

  • Oversee cleanliness, landscaping, security coordination, waste management, and general campus appearance.
  • Ensure classrooms, offices, recreational areas, and common spaces remain functional and welcoming.
  • Support school events by coordinating facility setup and logistical requirements.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to identify facility improvements that enhance the educational environment.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

Candidates should possess:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications in facility management, health and safety, or operations management will be an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in facility management, operations, maintenance, property management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing buildings, infrastructure, maintenance projects, or operational services.
  • Experience working within a school, educational institution, hospitality environment, or similar setting will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, budgets, and facility improvement initiatives.
