Supervision: Treasury Officers – GNL & Affiliate businesses

Job Location: Techiman (Requires travel to BOBO, Burkina)

Job Purpose
Ghana Nuts and its Affiliates (OBA Group) require the services of a Group Treasury Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the Group’s continued growth.
The role holder will take a leading role in managing the Group’s global cash and liquidity, overseeing treasury operations, and driving strategic projects that improve efficiency, automation, and visibility.
Provide effective leadership and develop the Treasury team to contribute to the proper economic, efficient and effective use of resources.

Key Responsibilities
Group Treasury Manager:
Financial Risk Management

  • Develop and execute FX hedging strategies in alignment with corporate policies and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to foreign exchange, interest rates and credits.

Cash and Liquidity Management

  • Develop and maintain short and long-term cash flow forecasts.
  • Oversee daily cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organization meets its operational and strategic obligations.
  • Manage cash concentration, disbursements and pooling strategies.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare regular treasury reports, including risk assessment, cash position summaries, liquidity metrics and investment performance if any.
  • Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to treasury operations.
  • Conduct variance analysis of performance vs actuals and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

Banking and Financial Relationships

  • Maintain and s engthen relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Negotiate banking agreements and manage banking fees.
  • Oversee bank account administration, including account openings, closings and signatory updates.
  • Effectively work with and support internal business partners including A/R, A/P, Legal, Tax, Legal and IT.

Debt and Investment Management

  • Provide analysis of and recommendations on capital structure and financing strategies.
  • Monitor and manage debt instruments, ensuring compliance with covenants.
  • Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities to optimize returns within the organization’s risk tolerance.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor treasury staff, fostering professional development.
  • Promote adherence to best practices and treasury policies
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.

Technology and Process Optimization

  • Collaborate with IT to implement automation tools and enhance system integrations.
  • Manage and optimize the use of Time Management Systems
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities and implement treasury-related business process improvements.

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
  • MBA Preferred.
  • Must be in possession of an internationally recognized Professional Qualifications (ACCA, ICA, CIA, CPA, ACA, CIPFA, CIMA or its equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and various regional statutory requirements and their application.
  • Knowledge of accounting packages or ERP such as SAP, Oracle, SAGE, Sun, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Pastel, QuickBooks etc.
  • 5+ years of accounting and/or treasury experience.
  • Good knowledge of Shea industry and its derivatives, Agribusiness and FMCG industries.
