We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Head of Stores to lead our inventory and stores operations while ensuring the efficient management of materials and resources.

Position Summary

The Head of Stores will oversee the planning, organization, and control of the company’s stores and inventory operations. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Stores Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the stores and warehouse to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Ensure the accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support uninterrupted business operations.
  • Monitor stock movements and implement effective inventory control measures.

Materials Planning & Coordination

  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and operations teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Coordinate stock replenishment activities to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Support production and maintenance teams by ensuring timely access to required materials.

Inventory Control & Compliance

  • Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and inventory audits.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and documentation are maintained.
  • Implement and enforce stores management policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Minimize inventory losses, wastage, and obsolete stock through effective monitoring.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and develop stores personnel to achieve operational excellence.
  • Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare regular inventory, stock movement, and performance reports for management.
  • Analyse inventory trends and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in engineering, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing inventory systems and warehouse operations.
