Role Summary

The Human Resources Manager will lead the firm’s HR function, drive a high-performance culture, and provide strategic HR support to management and staff. The successful candidate will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, HR operations, payroll coordination, learning and development, and compliance with labour and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the firm’s business objectives.
  • Advise senior management on workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational development
  • Lead culture-building initiatives that promote professionalism, accountability, and employee engagement.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for accountants, auditors, and support staff.
  • Design job descriptions, manage job postings, conduct interviews, and coordinate selection.
  • Oversee structured onboarding and probation management.

Performance Management

  • Implement and manage a robust performance appraisal system.
  • Support managers in setting KPIs, conducting evaluations, and managing performance improvement plans (PIPs).
  • Drive merit-based recognition and reward processes.

Learning & Development

  • Identify training needs and develop annual training plans
  • Coordinate CPD programs for accounting professionals.
  • Facilitate soft skills, leadership, and technical training sessions

Employee Relations & Welfare

  • Maintain a healthy work environment built on trust, compliance, and respect.
  • Resolve grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflict professionally.
  • Promote staff welfare and wellness initiatives.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date staff records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll inputs and statutory deductions (SSNIT, PAYE, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with the Labour Act, Data Protection Act, and regulatory frameworks relevant to accounting firms.
  • Develop and update HR policies, SOPs, employee handbooks, and contracts.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (CIHRM, SHRM, CIPD) is a strong advantage,
  • Minimum 5-7 years HR experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in a professional services or accounting/audit firm is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Ghana’s labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
