Position Overview
UNICEF Ghana seeks a highly experienced International Consultant to design and support the implementation of a multistakeholder financing mechanism aimed at eliminating child labour in Ghana. The consultant will work closely with government agencies, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to develop a sustainable and impactful financing framework. This role requires deep expertise in development finance, strong partnership-building capabilities, and the ability to translate strategy into actionable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of a multistakeholder financing mechanism to address child labour in Ghana
- Map and engage key stakeholders, including government institutions, donors, private sector partners, and civil society organizations
- Develop comprehensive design documents outlining the structure, governance, and operational framework of the financing mechanism
- Create and implement a resource mobilization strategy to ensure long-term sustainability
- Provide strategic advice on development finance and innovative funding approaches
- Facilitate consultations, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to build consensus and alignment
- Conduct analysis and produce high-quality reports to inform decision-making
- Collaborate with UNICEF teams and partners to ensure effective delivery of project objectives
Qualifications and Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Finance, Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in development finance
- Proven experience in designing multistakeholder financing mechanisms
- Strong expertise in partnership development and resource mobilization
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse and multicultural environments
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
