Position Overview

WANEP seeks a skilled and proactive IT Officer to manage and support its information and communication technology systems. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure, while supporting staff and programs with effective technology solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic NGO environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, and hardware
  • Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Ensure data security, system backups, and disaster recovery processes are in place
  • Monitor system performance and implement upgrades where necessary
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of ICT tools for program delivery
  • Maintain IT documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as required
  • Train staff on IT systems, tools, and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive and responsible experience in ICT management
  • Prior experience working with a non-governmental organization (NGO)
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure management
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Working knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
