IT APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST (OPERATIONS) – HYBRID

Location: Accra, Ghana
Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)

As we continue to strengthen our digital capabilities, we are seeking an experienced and results-oriented IT Applications Specialist (Operations) to support and optimize our operational systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and manufacturing, driving SAP-enabled transformation initiatives that support business performance and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

You will:

SAP Project Delivery & Systems Management

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of SAP projects, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, user training, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Analyze business requirements and perform gap analyses between operational needs and SAP standard functionalities.
  • Design and implement effective SAP solutions that support operational excellence and business objectives.
  • Ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and agreed timelines.

Business Process Optimization

  • Collaborate with global and local Operations process owners to design and implement future-ready business processes.
  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on SAP system capabilities and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end operational and manufacturing processes across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IT Operations landscape.

Application Support & Incident Management

  • Act as the first point of escalation for application-related and IT/business process issues.
  • Support incident management by assessing impact, urgency, and business criticality.
  • Coordinate with support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and service requests.
  • Maintain system stability, reliability, and user satisfaction.

Training & Documentation

  • Deliver regular end-user training programs to enhance system adoption and capability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, process guides, and training materials.
  • Support change management activities to ensure successful implementation of new solutions.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, or a related discipline.
  • A certification in at least one SAP Operations Module (mandatory).

Experience Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC, particularly within the following modules:
    • Materials Management (MM)
    • Production Planning (PP)
    • Quality Management (QM)
    • Plant Maintenance (PM)
    • Warehouse Management (WM)
  • Proven experience managing and delivering SAP implementation and enhancement projects.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and operations business processes.

Technical Skills & Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong SAP functional expertise and operational systems knowledge.
  • Excellent project management and delivery capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of process integration and cloud integration technologies will be an advantage.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French will be considered an added advantage.
