Position Purpose

The IT Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of medium to large-scale technology projects that support the Bank’s strategic objectives. The role will manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring projects deliver measurable business value.

Working closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders, the IT Project Manager will drive business change through structured project management methodologies and governance frameworks, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Delivery

  • Lead the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of technology projects.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, and implementation plans.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, budgets, and milestones.
  • Ensure project activities are aligned with organizational objectives and governance requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address issues that may impact delivery.

Resource and Budget Management

  • Manage project resources, including people, systems, vendors, procurement activities, budgets, and timelines.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Track project expenditures and provide regular financial reporting to stakeholders.
  • Optimize resource utilization while maintaining project quality and delivery standards.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration across business units, technology teams, and functional departments.
  • Provide regular project updates, status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote transparency and alignment across all project participants.

Change Management and Business Transformation

  • Lead and support change management activities associated with project implementation.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand, adopt, and effectively utilize new processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Facilitate business readiness activities to support successful project outcomes.
  • Drive the operationalization of project deliverables to achieve sustainable business benefits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organizational performance.

Risk, Quality, and Governance Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, governance standards, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records.
  • Monitor project quality and ensure deliverables meet agreed standards and business requirements.

Leadership and Team Coordination

  • Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support where required.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance project environment.
  • Promote accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement among project team members.
  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation in alignment with project demands.

Continuous Improvement and Professional Development

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and project management best practices.
  • Contribute to the improvement of project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities to enhance professional expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing medium to large-scale technology or digital transformation projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders within complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, or a highly regulated industry will be an advantage.
