Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Cargo Operator to join our offshore operations team in Accra on a full-time basis. You will support safe and efficient cargo handling operations while working within a structured marine environment that prioritizes safety, compliance, and teamwork.
You will operate within established procedures and actively contribute to safe cargo transfer operations, vessel readiness, and bridge coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support cargo operations in accordance with established marine safety and operational procedures
- Assist in monitoring cargo systems and reporting operational conditions accurately
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all cargo handling activities
- Coordinate effectively with bridge and deck teams to ensure safe operations
- Participate in drills, safety meetings, and operational briefings
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards
Qualification Required & Experience
Candidates must meet the following certification and competency requirements:
- Meets STCW Code A-II/1 standard (Officer of the Watch)
- Advanced training for Chemical Tankers
- Advanced Fire Fighting – Code A-VI/3
- Advanced Oil Tanker Cargo Operations – Code A-V/1-1, A-V/1-1-2
- Bridge Resource Management – A-II/1 & A-II/2
- GMDSS certification
- Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats
- Proficiency in RADAR/ARPA operations
