Position Summary

The Lecturer in Ghanaian Language (Twi) will contribute to the College’s mission by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting research, mentoring students, and supporting academic and administrative activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting Ghanaian language education and developing future educators equipped with strong linguistic and pedagogical competencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective teaching in Ghanaian Language (Twi) and related courses.
• Develop course materials, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional resources.
• Set, administer, and mark assignments, quizzes, examinations, and other assessments.
• Supervise student teaching practice, projects, and academic research activities.
• Conduct scholarly research and contribute to academic publications in relevant fields.
• Participate actively in curriculum development and quality assurance initiatives.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Support departmental and institutional administrative responsibilities.
• Contribute to community engagement and extension services organized by the College.
• Participate in academic committees, workshops, seminars, and professional development activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal or an authorized representative.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Ghanaian Language (Twi) or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
• A Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Ghanaian Language (Twi).
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Ghanaian Language (Twi).
• A Teacher Education Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), which is compulsory.
• A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution or another recognized educational institution.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, research, and student development.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and academic writing skills.

Note: Applicants currently pursuing a PhD programme may also be considered.
