Position Summary

The Lecturer in Mathematics will contribute to the College’s academic mission by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, mentoring students, and supporting institutional development. The successful candidate will play a key role in equipping future educators with strong mathematical knowledge, analytical thinking skills, and effective teaching methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Mathematics and related subject areas.
• Develop course outlines, lesson plans, teaching materials, and learning resources.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate assignments, examinations, and other forms of assessment.
• Supervise student projects, research activities, and teaching practice placements.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship, and support to students.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish findings in reputable academic journals and publications.
• Participate in curriculum development, review, and quality assurance activities.
• Contribute to departmental and institutional administrative functions.
• Support community engagement and extension service initiatives organized by the College.
• Participate actively in academic committees, conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional development programmes.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal or an authorized representative.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

• A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics from a recognized institution.
• A Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Mathematics.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.
• A Teacher Education Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), which is compulsory.
• A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution or another recognized educational institution.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, research, and academic development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and academic writing skills.

Note: Applicants currently pursuing a PhD programme may also be considered.
