Position Overview

The Ghana Railway Development Authority is seeking disciplined, alert, and safety-oriented individuals to fill six (6) Level Crossing Attendant positions in Tema.

The successful candidates will play a critical role in ensuring the safe movement of trains, vehicles, and pedestrians at designated railway crossings while supporting the Authority’s commitment to operational safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

The Level Crossing Attendants will:

• Operate railway crossing gates and signalling systems to control vehicular, pedestrian, and train traffic safely
• Monitor railway crossing activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Maintain accurate logs of train movements, incidents, and daily crossing activities
• Report faults, safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or operational risks promptly
• Assist in preventing accidents and ensuring public safety at level crossings
• Communicate effectively with relevant railway personnel regarding operational matters
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness at assigned crossing points
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established safety protocols

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of Senior High School (SHS) education or equivalent qualification
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• High level of alertness, responsibility, and safety awareness

The following will be an added advantage:

• Previous experience in traffic control, railway operations, security services, or related fields
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
