Position Overview
As a Supply Chain Assistant, you will support procurement, logistics, asset management, and supply chain activities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services. You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, service providers, and external stakeholders to maintain operational excellence and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement processes, including sourcing, purchasing, and vendor coordination activities.
- Assist in managing logistics operations to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain accurate procurement, inventory, and logistics records.
- Support asset management processes, including tracking, monitoring, and reporting on organizational assets.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to facilitate efficient procurement and logistics operations.
- Assist in preparing procurement documentation, reports, and supporting records.
- Monitor stock levels and support inventory control activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational procurement and logistics policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support operational requirements.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience; or
- High school diploma with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
- Certification in Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
Experience
- Experience in procurement and logistics, including working with vendors and service providers.
- Experience supporting asset management processes.
- Experience working with IOM or United Nations procurement and logistics rules and procedures is an advantage.
- Experience working within an international organization is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in standard office applications.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with national and international institutions and stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Languages
Required
- Fluency in English.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of French.
