Position Summary
Preset Pacesetters Senior High School is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and professional Non-Teaching Accountant to support the school’s financial operations. The successful candidate will manage accounting records, support budgeting and reporting processes, ensure financial accuracy, and maintain compliance with established financial procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting documentation in accordance with school policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare, process, and review financial transactions, including receipts, payments, invoices, and reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor income, expenditure, and budget performance to support effective financial decision-making.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain accurate records of school fees, collections, payments, and outstanding balances.
- Assist in payroll preparation and ensure accurate processing of staff-related financial information.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Maintain proper filing systems for financial documents and ensure easy retrieval when required.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Monitor procurement-related financial documentation and ensure proper authorization procedures are followed.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support school management decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive records.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A professional accounting qualification or progress toward qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAG) will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience working in an educational institution or similar organization will be an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping procedures.
