Operations Manager – Commercial Poultry Farm (Central Region)

Ultimate Farms is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a commercial layer farm in Ghana’s Central Region.

The farm already has a complete management system in place, including SOPs, reporting structures, biosecurity protocols, and accountability frameworks. The focus of this role is execution — bringing those systems to life on the ground and ensuring consistent operational standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage people, enforce standards, and solve operational problems in a growing agricultural business.

Compensation:
GHS 3,000 – GHS 5,100 per month depending on performance, plus accommodation and meals. Compensation grows as the operation scales, with performance bonuses tied to measurable operational metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Run Daily Farm Operations

• Oversee production activities and ensure smooth day-to-day operations

• Assign and supervise staff responsibilities

• Manage inventory, equipment, and operational readiness

Implement Operational Systems

• Train staff on SOPs and operational procedures

• Enforce reporting and accountability frameworks

• Adapt processes where necessary while maintaining operational standards

Problem Solving & Process Improvement

• Identify root causes when problems occur

• Design and implement practical solutions

• Document improvements and update operational procedures where necessary

Enforce Standards & Accountability

• Apply company policies and progressive discipline fairly and consistently

• Maintain operational discipline across the team

Reporting & Communication

• Submit structured daily reports in clear written English

• Track operational metrics and provide accurate updates to management

Team Leadership

• Manage farm workers and daily schedules

• Maintain strong standards of performance and professionalism

Requirements

• Strong written and spoken English communication

• Comfortable using digital tools and structured reporting systems

• Ability to think in systems and processes, not just routine tasks

• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently

• Resourceful and proactive when facing operational challenges

• Willing to work in a growing farm environment in the Central Region

Qualifications

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field

• 2–5 years of supervisory or operational experience

• Experience managing people, processes, or operational workflows

• Willingness to relocate (accommodation provided) or live within commuting distance

• References from previous supervisory roles

Poultry experience is an advantage but not required. Mindset and leadership matter more.
