Position Summary

The Professor of Medical Laboratory will provide academic leadership in teaching, research, curriculum development, and professional practice within the discipline. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing laboratory medicine education, strengthening research output, mentoring faculty and students, and enhancing the University’s academic reputation.

This role requires a distinguished scholar or clinician with a strong record of publications, proven leadership experience, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of a PhD in Medical Laboratory Science or a closely related discipline.

OR

• For clinicians, a minimum Membership Certificate from a recognized professional body in a relevant medical specialty.

Research Requirements

• Must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Demonstrated record of sustained scholarly contributions and academic excellence.
• Proven experience supervising postgraduate research and mentoring academic staff and students.
