We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sociology Teacher to inspire students and deliver outstanding instruction within the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & A Level).

Role Overview

As a Sociology Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that prepare students for success in Cambridge IGCSE and A Level examinations. You will foster an inclusive learning environment, encourage intellectual curiosity, and equip students with the skills to analyze social issues using sociological theories and research methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Sociology lessons aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & A Level).
  • Prepare students for Cambridge examinations through effective teaching strategies, assessments, and structured revision sessions.
  • Develop lesson plans that promote critical thinking, analysis, evaluation, and the application of sociological concepts to real-world issues.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and learning resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Encourage students to develop strong research, discussion, analytical, and academic writing skills.
  • Integrate relevant contemporary social issues and current events into classroom discussions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and curriculum development.
  • Lead or support Sociology enrichment activities, debates, research projects, and academic competitions.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and other academic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & A Level) is highly desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate sociological concepts effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire students and promote academic achievement.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence.
